Sir Robert Bond still getting help

The Labrador Ferry Sir Robert Bond as seen in this photo still getting assistance today, this time from the Sir William Alexander, the Henry Larsen has been reassigned. The Alexander is on loan to Newfoundland. and the Cape Roger is on loan to Nova Scotia (Mac Mckay)

HMCS Toronto makes brief stopover

The Canadian navy frigate Toronto made a brief stop in St. John's today. VOCM and CBC Newfoundland reporting this today. The Toronto spent the last 13 months at sea. On patrol in the Arabian Sea and Indian ocean as part of an effort to curb terrorism and piracy The Toronto will then head to its homeport of Halifax .

Sir Robert Bond stuck, but now making slow progress

The Labrador ferry Sir Robert Bond, spent last night Feb 16, 2014 stuck in heavy ice, and in poor visibility. The Bond departed Blanc Sablon 0715hrs Feb 16, 2014, but didn't get very far, the icebreaker Henry Larsen arrived and at one point she got stuck. The Larsen is now escorting the Bond to Corner Brook where they are due early this evening, where she will do a quick turnaround and depart again for Blanc Sablon.

The Spanish fishing vessel Pescaberbes Dos visited St. John's recently for supplies, this is the first visit for this ship to my knowledge.
